Principal's Corner

Welcome to Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies! I hope that this website provides helpful information for current and prospective students and their parents / guardians.

Our institution is a small, “Career Academy” secondary school of choice. All students must participate in the “Electronic / Computer” or “Civil / Mechanical” Engineering Technology major, in addition to rigorous honors-level and college-prep academic curricula. The school is located on the campus of the Middlesex County College. Qualified junior and senior students may have the opportunity to attend college courses during the high school day.

The Academy opened in September, 2000; the eighth class graduated in June, 2011. Student performance has been superb! The class of 2011 average combined SAT scores were 2054, ranking our school among the highest performing high schools in New Jersey. US News and World Report recognized our school as being one of "America’s Best High Schools" for 2008, 2009, and 2010. Rankings beyond 2010 have not been announced.

Residents of Middlesex County may apply and participate in a highly competitive admission process. Details are described in the “How to Apply” section of this website. We admit approximately 42 new students into the freshman class. Because of the fast-pace and narrowly focused curriculum, transfer students are rarely admitted. Individuals interested in transfer options are encouraged to contact me directly.

I believe that our school provides a nurturing environment in which motivated students can thrive. Successful learning is the result of a strong partnership between students, parents & guardians, and our dedicated faculty and staff.
