    Automotive Repair Course emphasizes the basic jobs, operations, and skills needed in the servicing and repair of automobiles and light trucks. Students will gain a thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used by automotive technicians .Incorporated throughout is instruction of job safety, and an emphasis on proper work attitudes and appearance.

    Class and Shop Rules

    1. Students are to report to class/shop on time and prepared for class/shop.
    2. No cell phones to be used with-out teachers permission in shop/ class.
    3. All students will complete all assignments on time.
    4. No tools or equipment will be used with-out Instructors permission.
    5. Respect all staff and fellow students, and no ethnic degrading remarks.
    6. All rules covered in the student handbook issued by MCVTHS.
    7. Safety rules will be followed at all times.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        .                                                     8. Work boots and Safety Glasses must be worn at all times in the shop                                                                                                                                                     

    Grade Policy, Student Evaluation and Student Requirements

    1.      Students will maintain a note book containing handouts given out by the instructor and any pertinent information discussed in shop and classroom.

    2.      Students will be evaluated on the ability to gain good practical use of skills offered.

    3.      Good effort and the willingness to participate will be a large factor in the student’s daily participation grade.

    4.      A minimum of four tests and a final examination will be given to all students.

    5.      Students will be assigned and complete a marking period project for all 4 marking periods. Project will be worked on during shop periods and home

    6.      Grading

                                                                                      90-100= A                  

                    Tests , Exams ,projects    20%                 80-89  =B

                    Daily Participation           60%                 70-79  =C

                    Homework                       20%                 66-69  = D

                                                            100%                65 or <= F

    Any policy additions and/or changes issued by the Board of Education of Middlesex County Vocational Technical High School will be implemented as soon as possible.

    1.Notebook or Binder with paper
    2.Face mask and disposable gloves ( if desired) to be supplied by student

    4.Work clothes  - Blue ,Black or Grey preferred                                                                                                                                                                                 
    5.Safety Glasses- supplied by school
