• 10th Grade English

    Using the genres of the short story, the novel, the essay, poetry and drama, students will explore literature and language through close reading, discussion and writing. Students review skills in the areas of narrative, informational, persuasive/argumentative and poetic text. Vocabulary growth is developed through reading and discussion as well as through structured lessons. Grammar and editing skills are also emphasized.

     

    12th Grade English

    In this course, students will continue to develop higher level language arts skills. This course will include reading selections of essays, novels and plays. Vocabulary, grammar and improving writing skills are also emphasized. Students will also require communication skills necessary to be successful in their career majors.

     

    US History I

    In this course, students will acquire the knowledge and skills to think analytically and systematically about how our nation came to be. Subjects that will be touched upon throughout this year will include Colonization and Settlement, Revolution and the New Nation, Expansion and Reform, Civil War and Reconstruction and The Development of the Industrial United States.

     

    US History II

    In this course, students will acquire the knowledge and skills to think analytically and systematically about how our nation came to be. Subjects that will be touched upon throughout this year will include our efforts in World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and events leading us through our time today.
