Dr. Luis F García

I was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. My mother was from Barceloneta, Puerto Rico; and my father was from Valladolid, Spain. I grew up in León, Spain; and went to high school in Alicante, Spain. At 18 years old, I went back to Puerto Rico where I completed a B.Sc. degree in Physics at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. I was accepted at Michigan State University, where I completed a M.Sc. in Physics and a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. After this, I worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Allentown, PA; and Holmdel/Middletown, NJ. While working at AT&T, I completed an M.A. degree in Spanish at Rutgers University; and a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature at Temple University. My Ph.D. thesis is about Contemporary Peninsular Poetry. From 2006 to 2010, I taught Humanities (Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, and Middle Ages) and Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Puerto Rico. I have taught Spanish at Middletown H.S. South, Central Regional H.S., and Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ. I taught Physics at Freehold Boro H.S. I also taught Mathematics (Algebra, Calculus, and Linear Algebra) at Brookdale Community College, and Statistics at Ocean County College.

I enjoy reading, writing, playing chess, gardening, cooking, and watching Netflix and Amazon Prime crime, horror, and scify movies and series. I have written several fiction and poetry books, which were published in Spain and Puerto Rico (see books below)
