Mr. John Jeffries
Welcome to the Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies. This website will provide helpful up-to-date information for current and prospective students, and their parents or guardians.
Our institution is a small, “Career Academy” that serves as a secondary school of choice for students in Middlesex County. This learning community focuses on 3 Rs: Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships.
All enrolled students participate in either a “Electronics & Computer” or a “Civil & Mechanical” Engineering Technology majors, in addition to honors and college-prep level academic curricula. The school is located on the campus of the Middlesex County College, and qualified junior and senior students have the opportunity to attend college courses during the school day.
The Academy opened in September, 2000; the tenth class graduated in June, 2013. Student performance has been superb! See the Awards and Recognition section for some recent accolades.
Residents of Middlesex County may apply and participate in a highly competitive admission process. Details appear in the Admissions section of this website. We admit approximately 42 new students into the freshman class, and because of the fast-paced, narrowly focused curriculum, transfer students are rarely admitted. Individuals interested in transfer options are encouraged to contact me directly.
Our school provides a nurturing environment in which motivated students can thrive and grow as young adults. Successful learning is the result of a strong partnership between students, parents/guardians, and our dedicated staff.
I will be posting important information from time-to-time on this website through twitter and instagram, and I encourage interested persons to check it frequently for the latest information.
