Guidelines for Recommendations

Recommendations are needed for various reasons, including college applications, scholarships and summer programs. The following guidelines are in place to provide ample time for the counselor to write a strong, thoughtful letter and assure that it will be submitted prior to the deadline.

  • Student must make the request, either in person or via email at least 2 weeks prior to the deadline date.
  • For college application recommendations, the student must submit the Brag Sheet via email to Ms. Nakielny by June 15st (prior to the senior year).
  •   For scholarships/summer programs, students must email Ms. Nakielny a description of the program along with a paragraph detailing the reason for applying. A link to the program/scholarship website is also very helpful! A due date must be included.
  •   Students must waive their right to view the recommendation.
